About Brooke

Brooke (she/her/hers) is a doctoral student at the University of Texas, Austin emphasizing in Education Policy and Planning. As a first-generation college student, Brooke completed both her Bachelors and Masters degrees at San Diego State University.

Before Beginning her PhD, Brooke worked as an academic advisor for first-gen and undeclared students at SDSU. She successfully piloted a graduation initiative through the CSU system that helped students impacted by COVID-19 return to campus to complete their degrees. Her research interests center on better understanding undergraduate experiences that facilitate success for first-generation students. 

In her free time, she loves to go on runs, attend music shows, and explore her new home of ATX!
